Dump Trailer Kits
The utility and dump trailer kits available on the Net have different components. The materials included will depend on what type of trailer you want to build. The following are examples of what the kits may contain.
1,500 lb Trailers (Single Axle)
The typical kit will include the 1,500 lb trailer axle with idler hubs, a 3/4″ round u-bolt kit axle, plates, nuts and u-bolts. The kit will also have the three 24″ slipper rings, safety chains and Atwood A-frame jack.
A trailer light kit will have the wires, connections, clearance lights and tail lights. Other materials included are a couple of 12 inch feeders, two 12 inch 480/12 wheels and tires and a hanger kit. The hanger kit will have the shackle straps, shackle nuts and bolts and hangers.
2,000 lb Dump Trailer Kits
This kit includes 13 inch ST17580D13B white spoke tires and wheels. A 2 inch ball A-frame 50 degree Atwood Coupler is also included. These kits usually have a couple of safety chains, frame jack and the light kit.
A couple of 13 inch fenders, shackle straps, shackle bolts and nuts and hangers are included. A couple of leaf 29″ slipper springs and 2,000 lb axle with hubs are also part of the package.
Kit for 5,200 lb Trailer
Aside from the 5,200 lb trailer axle with idler hubs, a couple of safety chains are included as well. Other components in the kit are Bulldog a-frame jacks and a 2 inch a-frame coupler.
A single trailer light kit, and 12″ x 69″ Fender backs may also be there. Spoke wheels and tires, shackle bolts and straps are invariably included in the kits.
Torsion Axle Kit 5,200 lbs
This usually includes the following: safety chains, frame coupler, frame jack, license plate bracket, clearance lights, Fender backs shackle straps and bolts.
Tips
Before buying the kit, make sure to specify the outside frame width. You should also look at the specs. There are kits for single axle, single torsion, tandem, tandem torsion and many others. Some are made for 1,500 lb capacity.
Others are made for 5,200 lbs, 7,000 lbs, 10,400 lbs, 14,000 lbs and so on. Before placing an order, get familiar with the payment options first.
